What Is Acid Reflux

GERD stands for Gastro Esophageal Reflux Disease which is a health problem also known as acid reflux. Acid reflux is the disease in which gastric contents pass through the esophagus and causes damage to mucosal. It is one of the common and old symptoms of this disease.

Usually victim of this disease are adults but it doesn’t mean that kids and infant are protected from it. There are some reasons which trigger the problem like some foods or nap after eating food and even pregnancy can develop heartburn or acid reflux in most of the people at different stages of life.

The symptoms of heartburns and acidity are also related to the acid reflux disease. The heartburn which is one of the main symptoms of acid reflux is basically internal wind pipe irritation in the form of burning at the back of breast bone.

Some common symptoms such as hoarseness, coughing, voice alteration and ear ache. If it is not treated properly then it can worsen the acid reflux in the form of esophageal ulcers and it can get even worst with esophageal melanoma.

It is not important that if you are feeling heartburn then you must have acid reflux. If the symptoms of heartburn take place often in week then it can be the reason of acid reflux.

Let’s talk about the factors related to the GERD which can increase acidity in the body. Factors such as overweight, fitted clothes and pregnancy can also increase the symptoms. Candida albicans can be one of the reasons for GERD.

The GERD problem is mainly caused by the inadequate production of the stomach acids in the body.

According to the reason, the valve which is a hollow organ and has a flap too it insures the one way flow of the fluid through the organ, when it is emptied then it causes acidity in the digestive system. As a result the valve remains closed and the content of the guts will be mixed in to the food pipe and so a person feels irritability.
